Meet Brigette Cameron – Our Incredible Clinical Assistant
Brigette Cameron is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) from Barrie. She grew up playing various sports, including: soccer, rugby and basketball. It was her love for basketball that eventually took her across the border to the USA for her post-secondary education. She attended Adrian College in Michigan, playing on the women’s varsity basketball team for 4 years while getting her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Along the way, she was introduced to the world of Athletic Training, known as Athletic Therapy in Canada. She fell in love with the program at school and ended up getting her Master’s degree in Athletic Training. Following school she worked as a certified athletic trainer for two years in Michigan, interning with the Detroit Lions NFL team and then working as the Athletic Trainer for a local high school. Brigette moved back to Barrie in December 2018, and joined the BodyWorx team as a Clinical Assistant in January 2019. Brigette fit right into the BWV family and made an immediate positive connection with all of our clients. She is not only incredibly knowledgeable but super friendly and
positive, and you can’t help but smile around her.
Currently, Brigette is working and studying towards transferring her credits and obtaining her Canadian certification in Athletic Therapy. She hopes to be fully licensed in June where she can continue to work in the therapy aspect at the clinic. Brigette is passionate about providing the best care possible to patients, and strives to get to know everyone individually to customize their rehabilitation to fit their goals. She loves to learn, and can often be found researching new techniques or exercises to improve the care she can provide to patients. Her goal every day is to bring a smile to the faces of others and to help them feel better in any way she can.
